Ladki Bahin Yojana continues to give eligible women across Maharashtra monthly financial help of ₹1,500. The scheme, launched in August 2024, now covers around 1.5 crore women after a big verification drive carried out by the state government.

During the 2026-27 budget speech, the Maharashtra government confirmed that the scheme will not be stopped and will keep benefiting women across the state. The budget allocation for 2026-27 is ₹26,500 crore. The monthly benefit is still ₹1,500, and the promised increase to ₹2,100 has not happened yet.

Ladki Bahin Yojana Installment Status 2026

Monthly installments of ₹1,500 continue for all verified women. Payments are usually credited between the 5th and 15th of each month through DBT into Aadhaar-linked bank accounts. The August 2026 installment has been paid. The September 2026 installment is still pending, and no official credit date has been announced yet, so active beneficiaries should keep checking their bank accounts.

After the verification drive, about 92 lakh women were removed from the list, which is close to 38 percent of everyone enrolled. Nearly 62 lakh of these were dropped only for not completing eKYC. Others were removed for crossing the ₹2.5 lakh income limit, being government employees, or being above the age limit. The scheme now covers around 1.5 crore women, down from a peak of nearly 2.43 crore.

As per the government resolution, every year women beneficiaries must complete eKYC between June and July within a two-month window to keep receiving the monthly benefit. The first annual eKYC window ran from 1 June to 15 July 2026 on the official website. The next annual eKYC cycle is expected to open in June 2027.
