Motor Vehicle Driver-Conductor Welfare Scheme Medical Assistance Details
Scheme is run by Transport Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. It does not pay any monthly cash. Instead, it gives eligible drivers and conductors access to free or low-cost treatment at government hospitals and a separate approved amount for serious diseases.
One important 2026 change should be noted. Deendayal Antyodaya Upchar Yojana, which earlier funded the treatment part of this scheme with a limit of ₹20,000 to ₹30,000 a year, has been operationally taken over by Ayushman Bharat Niramayam in Madhya Pradesh. Niramayam gives cashless hospital cover of up to ₹5 lakh per family per year at empanelled government and private hospitals. Benefits Given Under the Scheme
Support under this scheme works in two parts. Regular hospital treatment is covered by the state health system, and high cost treatment for listed serious diseases is covered by a separate fund. Both parts cover the registered worker as well as eligible family members.

Who Can Apply
Rules stay the same in 2026. Anyone applying must be a working driver or conductor registered under the welfare scheme, and the medical need has to be backed by hospital papers.
- Applicant should be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh.
- A valid commercial driving licence or conductor licence issued in Madhya Pradesh is required.
- Family and member details must be recorded on the Samagra portal.
- Applicant should be registered as a transport vehicle driver or conductor under this welfare scheme.
- Treatment need must be shown through a doctor's prescription, hospital estimate or serious illness certificate.
Application Process 2026
Application is filed offline at the transport office, but the Samagra part is done online first. Keep the licence and Samagra number ready before starting.
STEP 1 - Open the Samagra portal at samagra.gov.in and pick the Register Family or Register Member option on the homepage.
STEP 2 - Enter Aadhaar details, verify with the OTP that comes on the registered mobile number, fill the form, upload the papers and submit after entering the captcha. If the family is already registered, only check that the member details and mobile number are correct.
STEP 3 - Download the application form from page 9 of the official scheme guidelines PDF on the transport department website, or collect a printed copy from the transport office counter.
STEP 4 - Fill every field in the form, attach self attested copies of the licence, Samagra ID, residence proof and medical papers, and hand over the full set at the District Transport Office or Regional Transport Office of the district.
STEP 5 - For the serious illness amount, the hospital or district office forwards the case to the health department for sanction. Payment goes to the treating hospital, so keep the receipt and the sanction letter safe for follow up.
People who cannot fill the online Samagra part at home can visit a Lok Seva Kendra, MP Online kiosk or Common Service Center in their area and get it updated there for a small service charge.
