This scheme provides financial help through soft loans and subsidies for a new income-generating project. Total financial support can go up to ₹2,00,000. The state government has also set aside about ₹500 crore to make unemployed youth self-dependent.

The state-owned Cooperative Bank will give 95% or 90% of the loan amount as a Cash Credit in two parts. The first 50% installment is released first, and the second part comes once you provide a certificate confirming the use of the first portion. Both subsidies are processed through the official portal linked to the Integrated Financial Management System.

Eligibility

You can apply if you are an aspiring or existing entrepreneur living in West Bengal. Only one member per family (parents and spouse) may apply for this scheme.

1. Age Limit: You must be between 18 and 50 years old as of September 2020.
2. Education: You should have passed at least Class VIII. Preference goes to those already registered with the Employment Bank.
3. Activity: Your proposed work must be a new income-generating activity in manufacturing, service, or trading.

Application Process

Online

You can apply online through the official Karma Sathi portal. First register as a new user with your name, full address, gender, date of birth, and mobile number. An OTP is sent to your mobile for verification.

STEP 1 - Visit the official website at msme.wb.gov.in/karmasathi and click on the Login link. A popup page will appear on the screen.

STEP 2 - Click on the Register Here link and fill in your profile details such as name, address, gender, date of birth, and mobile number. Click the Register button and enter the OTP sent to your mobile to activate your profile.

STEP 3 - After login, fill up the online application with your personal details, project details (project name, cost, bank information), and upload the required documents as PDF files of maximum 2 MB size.

STEP 4 - Review the details and click the Submit button for final submission. You can track your application status by clicking the Details link on your dashboard after login.

Offline

You can collect the application form (Annexure-I) for free from the following offices:

• Office of the Block Development Officer (BDO) for rural applicants
• Office of the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) for municipal areas outside Kolkata
• Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) office for KMC area residents
• MSME Facilitation Centre (MFC) of the District Industries Centre (DIC)

Once you complete the form, submit it to the same BDO, SDO, or MFC office nearest to your residence.
