Investment Promotion Scheme (IPS) for MSME Sector: Assistance for Patent Registration or Trade Mark Registration is a state-level scheme of the Department of Industries, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. It gives cash support to MSMEs by reimbursing part of the cost of getting a patent or trademark registered, so local businesses can protect their new products and unique processes without carrying the full expense.

It was first launched on 3rd July 2015 for a five year period, and the government extended it from 20th May 2022. Investment Promotion Scheme (IPS) for MSME Sector: Assistance for Patent Registration or Trade Mark Registration - Introduction

This sub-scheme is run by the Department of Industries under the U.T. Administration of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. It helps eligible business entities cover the cost of obtaining patents or trademarks for products they have developed or for unique manufacturing processes they follow during the policy period.

Main aim of the Investment Promotion Scheme (IPS) is to support the MSME sector with well-timed incentives. The government wants to keep small businesses competitive, bring in more women entrepreneurs, lower local unemployment, and push industries to hire resident workers.

Main aim of the Assistance for Patent Registration or Trade Mark Registration sub-scheme is simple. Through this part, an eligible individual or legal entity can claim financial support for getting a patent or trademark registered for a developed product or process during the policy period.
