Haryana government runs Financial Assistance to War Widows of Defence Forces for widows of Army, Navy and Air Force personnel who lost their lives during the 1962, 1965 and 1971 wars. The scheme gives monthly financial support of ₹3,000 to eligible residents of Haryana, paid on top of the family pension they already receive from the Government of India.

Financial Assistance to War Widows of Defence Forces

This scheme supports widows of defence personnel killed in action during the declared wars of 1962, 1965 and 1971. If you are the widow of an Army, Navy or Air Force member who died in these wars, you can get monthly financial help from the Haryana government.

Implemented by the Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Department, the scheme provides ₹3,000 per month. This amount increases by ₹400 every November since 1 November 2017 to account for inflation.
