Uttar Pradesh government runs the Computer Training Scheme for unemployed OBC (Other Backward Classes) youth who want to learn digital skills and improve their job chances. Under this scheme, free computer training is given in 'O' Level and CCC (Course on Computer Concepts) courses at recognized training institutes.
For the 2026-27 batch, the Backward Classes Welfare Department invited online applications and the last date to apply was July 10, 2026. Training for the new batch began from August 1, 2026. During the 2025-26 financial year, more than 29,000 youth completed their training under this scheme.
The main aim of the scheme is to give better employment chances to the youth of other backward classes by improving their digital skills. The government fully covers the training cost, so eligible students do not have to pay anything to the institute. The only amount the candidate has to pay is the NIELIT examination fee, which is paid directly on the official portal.
Training is given through institutes approved by NIELIT (National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology), which is under the Government of India. At present, around 299 institutes across Uttar Pradesh are empanelled under the scheme, with 204 institutes offering both O Level and CCC courses.
