Assam government has launched CM's Jibon Anuprerana Scheme to support full-time PhD research scholars studying in central or state universities within the state. The scheme gives a one-time grant of ₹25,000 to regular research scholars and ₹40,000 to Divyang (differently-abled) research scholars to encourage research and innovation.
Applications are processed online through the DIDS portal at dids.assam.gov.in. The scheme was announced in the 2025-26 state budget and launched by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on 26 February 2026. The Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training is the nodal agency that runs the scheme.
