Launch and Relaunch of Focus+ Scheme

The Focus+ Scheme was first launched at an event in Resubelpara, North Garo Hills in July 2022. The scheme helps large sections of Meghalaya's rural population and looks to improve the lives of people in the state. In March 2026, the Chief Minister relaunched the registration process from Resubelpara and added 2,000 more beneficiaries under the scheme.

In 2022-23, a total of 1,50,662 beneficiaries received Rs. 75.33 crore under the scheme. After name verification on the Meghalaya One Portal, 93,285 beneficiaries were found eligible. In 2024-25, the first payment of Rs. 2,500 was sent to 93,285 beneficiaries, and 11,133 new households in Garo Hills were added, taking the total to 1,04,418 households. So far, the government has used Rs. 148.08 crore under the scheme.

In Garo Hills, Rs. 20.26 crore has been released for all five districts, covering 81,046 households and 11,133 new beneficiaries. In South West Garo Hills, 14,017 beneficiaries received Rs. 3.50 crore. The government keeps expanding the scheme to cover more eligible families every year.

Eligibility Criteria

To get the benefit of the Focus Plus Scheme, a family must meet the conditions given below.

• The applicant must be a permanent resident of Meghalaya state.
• The applicant must register under a producer group, which should have 10 to 20 members.
• The applicant must have a Focus+ card as identification.
• Those involved in agricultural activity or other income generating work are eligible for the scheme.

STEP 1 - Contact the producer group or visit the official Meghalaya One Portal at mymeg.meghalaya.gov.in to start the registration.

STEP 2 - Farmers can also apply through their nearest Agriculture Development Officer or submit the application online on the official website.

STEP 3 - Fill in the application form with all the required information and attach the required documents, including citizen ID, family ID, land ability certificate, and full address.

STEP 4 - Submit the application to the concerned department, VLF or NGO, which will forward it to the district level committee (DLC).

STEP 5 - After verification of the application, the committee sanctions the money help and starts the process to transfer the funds into the bank account of the beneficiary through DBT.
