Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department of Jammu and Kashmir keeps the district and tehsil wise J&K ration card list available online at rcms.jk.gov.in. Citizens who applied for a new ration card can check their name online or download the JKePDS list of eligible APL, BPL, Antyodaya and NFSA beneficiaries.

J&K government has made this ration card list public so that finding the name of beneficiaries becomes easier. People can search their name in the J&K NFSA eligible beneficiaries list and also in the below poverty line (BPL) and Antyodaya lists generated by JKePDS.

Ration card is a very important document for APL and BPL families to get benefits of most government schemes in Jammu and Kashmir. Only ration card holders can buy ration at subsidized rates from Fair Price Shops located nearby.

New ration card applications and application status checks now happen through the J&K SMART-PDS portal at jk.smartpds.nic.in, while the RCMS portal continues to show the beneficiary lists. Both processes are explained below.

J&K Ration Card List 2026 - Check Name Online at JKePDS

All the citizens who had previously applied for the new ration card can now check their name in the JKePDS ration card list 2026 for NFSA beneficiaries through the steps given below.

STEP 1 - Visit the official website

First visit the official website of Jammu Kashmir RCMS at https://rcms.jk.gov.in/ and then click "Ration Card Drilldown Report" under the "Ration Card" menu on the top of the front page as shown in the below image.

STEP 2 - Verify the Captcha

Now you will be redirected to a page which asks for Captcha image text, enter the Captcha image text and click "Verify" button as shown in below image.

STEP 3 - Choose your district / DFSO and scheme name

After verifying the captcha image, you will be shown a page like below. Here you can choose your "District", "DFSO", "Scheme Name" and "Report Name" and then click the "View Report" button.

STEP 4 - DFSO wise ration cards list

After clicking the "View Report" button, you will see the DFSO wise ration cards count similar to below image. Now click on the DFSO name.

STEP 5 - TFSO wise ration cards count

Now you will see the TFSO wise ration cards count and you need to further click on the TFSO link as shown in the below image.

STEP 6 - FPS wise ration card count

Now you will see the report of number of ration cards for each Fair Price Shop in the selected TFSO. Now you can click the Fair Price Shop link to view the final ration card list.

STEP 7 - Final ration card list, FPS wise

In this final step, you will see the complete ration card list along with the member details under the selected FPS.

STEP 8 - Download ration card list PDF

To download the Jammu and Kashmir ration card list PDF, you can use "ctrl+p" buttons in your laptop or computer keyboard and then select "PDF" in the destination and "Landscape" in the orientation for better viewing experience, as shown in below image.

In the downloaded PDF of ration card list, you can perform name search.

There is no direct link to download the ration card list but one can download it using the "Print" button given at the bottom of the list or use the "ctrl+p" button to print the entire list.

Jammu Kashmir Ration Card Application Status

Applicants can check the status of their ration card application in Jammu Kashmir on the official website at rcms.jk.gov.in using the steps below.

STEP 1: Visit the official website at https://rcms.jk.gov.in/ and then click "Ration Card Search with Aadhaar ID" under the "Ration Card" menu.

STEP 2: Verify the captcha image text.

STEP 3: Now enter your Aadhaar number and click the "View Report" button as shown in the below image.

STEP 4: After clicking the button, you will see the status of the ration card applied using the entered Aadhaar number. If you see the ration card details, it means your ration card application has been approved and your ration card has been created.

If you see any error or invalid Aadhaar number or invalid ration card message, then it means your ration card application is still being processed.

Applicants can also check the application status by logging in to the J&K SMART-PDS portal at jk.smartpds.nic.in and opening the "RC Application" section and then "My Application".

How to Apply Online for Jammu and Kashmir Ration Card

In case the name of people does not appear in the Jammu and Kashmir ration card list, then one can apply online for name inclusion in the RC beneficiaries list.

New ration card applications in Jammu and Kashmir are now accepted through the J&K SMART-PDS portal at jk.smartpds.nic.in. Follow the steps given below to apply online.

STEP 1 - Visit the J&K SMART-PDS portal

Visit the official portal at jk.smartpds.nic.in and register using a mobile number. Existing users can log in directly.

STEP 2 - Open the RC Application section

After logging in, open the "RC Application" section and select "New Ration Card".

STEP 3 - Fill in the application form

Fill in the online form with the details of the head of the family, complete residential address, Aadhaar details of all eligible family members and select the appropriate ration card category.

STEP 4 - Upload the documents

Upload clear scanned copies of all the required supporting documents in the prescribed format and review the details before submitting.

STEP 5 - Submit the application

Submit the application and save the acknowledgement or application reference number. This number can be used to track the application status on the SMART-PDS portal.

STEP 6 - Verification and approval

The concerned Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs office verifies the application and documents. After successful verification and approval, the ration card is issued.

Application Fees

There is no application form filling fee and there is no requirement to pay any fees while applying online for a new ration card in Jammu and Kashmir. However, applicants can collect their ration cards from the concerned authorities on making a payment of Rs. 5 per copy.

Timelines for Issuing Ration Card in Jammu and Kashmir

All the applicants can submit the complete Jammu and Kashmir ration card online application form and new ration cards would be issued within 15 days of submission of application. However in certain cases, 1 month time is required to issue a new ration card.

Linking of Aadhaar Card with Ration Card

People can now link their Unique Identification Number or Aadhaar Card with their ration card. This can be done online by visiting the official portal and then clicking at the "Link to UID" link.

What is the Eligibility Criteria for J&K Ration Card

All the applicants must meet the basic eligibility criteria to get a new ration card in Jammu and Kashmir.

a) Applicants who are permanent residents of J&K can apply.
b) Households not already having a ration card in the state are eligible.
