Karnataka government is going to launch a new Bhoo Siri scheme for kisan credit card holders. Under this scheme, the state govt. will provide subsidy to facilitate farmers to purchase seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and other farm inputs. About Bhoo Siri Scheme for Kisan Credit Card Holders
Finance minister presented Karnataka Budget 2023-24 on 17 February 2023. While presenting the budget, FM said “We have decided to give additional subsidy of Rs. 10,000 in the year 2023-2024 under the new Bhoo siri scheme for Kisan Credit Card holders. This would facilitate the farmers to purchase seeds, fertilizer, pesticides and other farm inputs in times of exigencies. The state will contribute Rs. 2,500 and NABARD will provide Rs. 7,500. This will benefit around 50 lakh farmers of the state”.
Limit for Interest Free Loan to Farmers Increased in Karnataka Budget 2023-24
FM also said “The limit of interest free short-term loan given to farmers will be increased from Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh from this year. This would ensure availability of hassle free and need based loan facility for making necessary preparation for farm related activities. This year loan of Rs. 25,000 crore will be distributed to more than 30 lakhs farmers”.
