West Bengal Textile Incentive Scheme: Subsidy for Water Conservation/ Environment Compliance supports textile entrepreneurs by providing a reimbursement on expenses incurred for setting up captive Effluent Water Treatment Plants. This scheme is made for textile manufacturing units that want to meet environmental compliance rules and follow sustainable manufacturing practices across the state.

West Bengal Textile Incentive Scheme - Subsidy for Water Conservation and Environment Compliance

West Bengal Textile Incentive Scheme: Subsidy for Water Conservation/ Environment Compliance is a dedicated scheme launched on 13th December 2022 by the Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Textiles. It extends fiscal support to textile units throughout the entire value chain, from fiber creation to stitched garments, so they can meet modern environmental standards.

By offering financial relief for the installation of captive Effluent Water Treatment Plants, this scheme encourages sustainable growth. It helps textile enterprises adopt eco-friendly technologies, which in turn reduces pollution and saves water. This creates a more competitive and environmentally conscious textile sector in the region.

The scheme remains open for eligible textile units in West Bengal. New units and existing units that are expanding can apply for the reimbursement as long as they meet the conditions set under the West Bengal Textile Incentive Scheme 2022.

Objective of this Scheme

The main aim is to give fiscal incentives to textile units so they adopt better environmental practices. By reimbursing the costs linked to setting up pollution control devices and water treatment facilities, the state helps textile businesses lower their running costs while staying within national environmental rules.
