Uttar Pradesh government has launched Mukhyamantri Krishak Samriddhi Yojana, and registration is open on the new portal mksyldb.in. Small and marginal farmers can get a long-term loan of up to ₹6 lakh at 6% yearly interest. CM Yogi Adityanath started the scheme and the portal on 23 September 2026 in Lucknow and handed over loan sanction letters to the first farmers.

Loans come from UP Sahkari Gram Vikas Bank, which used to charge about 11% on these loans. Under the scheme, the state pays 5% of the interest for farmers who repay on time, so they pay only 6%. Farmers can apply online at home or at any of the bank's 323 branches.

Who can apply

Only small and marginal farmers of the state are eligible. The conditions are:

  • You must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
  • Your total farmland should be less than 2 hectares, which puts you in the small or marginal farmer group.
  • You need valid khasra or khatauni papers for the farmland in your own name.
  • You should not have defaulted on any earlier bank loan.

Documents required

Keep these ready before you register or visit the branch:

  • Aadhaar card of the applicant
  • Khasra, khatauni or kisan bahi for the current crop year
  • Ration card or residence certificate
  • Copy of the bank passbook with the IFSC code clearly visible
  • Two recent passport size photos
  • KYC form and loan application form (available at the bank branch)
  • Documents of two local witnesses for identity

What the loan can be used for

You can use the loan for minor irrigation, SRTO, farm machinery such as a tractor, boring, a solar pump, or beekeeping. Dairy, animal husbandry, horticulture, poultry, fish farming and rural housing are covered too. Some non-farm income and self-employment schemes run with NBCFDC and NSFDC also qualify, and there is an education loan for children of rural families.

The loan is long term, with repayment spread over 5 years or more. Remember that you only get the 5% interest subsidy if every installment is paid on time. Farmers already repaying Gram Vikas Bank loans on time also get the lower rate.

EMI calculator on the portal

Scroll to 'अपनी किस्त अभी जानें' on the mksyldb.in homepage and enter the loan amount, interest rate and number of years. For example, a ₹5 lakh loan at 6% over 10 years works out to about ₹5,551 a month, or ₹6.66 lakh in total. Your actual installment is fixed only after the loan is approved.
