Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida has launched the portal for the ‘Subhadra Yojana,’ a major scheme by the Odisha government to help empower women.

“‘Subhadra Yojana’ is an important scheme by the Odisha government, aiming to benefit more than one crore women. PM Modi will officially inaugurate it on September 17. Today, the Odisha government launched a website that has all the answers to questions about ‘Subhadra Yojana.’ Any new announcements and updates will also be on this portal,” said Odisha Deputy CM Pravati Parida.

Benefits of Subhadra Yojana
Subhadra Yojana gives women Rs 10,000 every year in two parts. The money will go straight to their bank accounts on International Women’s Day (March 8) and during Raksha Bandhan. Over five years, they will get a total of Rs 50,000. Women will also get a Subhadra Debit Card. If they use it for digital payments, they will receive an extra Rs 500.
Budget for Subhadra Yojana
The Odisha government has set aside INR 55,825 crore for the Subhadra Yojana. This scheme will run from the financial year 2024-2025 to 2028-2029. About 1 crore women will benefit and get Rs 50,000 each over five years. The top 100 women in each gram panchayat and urban area who do the most digital transactions will get an extra Rs 500.
Eligibility for Subhadra Yojana
To be eligible for Subhadra Yojana, you must:
- Be a woman living in Odisha.
- Be between 21 and 60 years old.
- Have your date of birth on your Aadhaar card.
- Not be from a rich family, a government employee, or a taxpayer.
- Not receive more than Rs 1,500 per month or Rs 18,000 per year from other government schemes.
Exclusions from Subhadra Yojana
You cannot get the Subhadra Yojana benefits if:
- You get more than Rs 1,500 per month or Rs 18,000 per year from another government program.
- You or your family members are elected representatives (except ward members and councilors).
- You are a taxpayer, pension holder, or government employee.
- Your family earns more than Rs 2.5 lakh per year.
- Your family owns a car or more than five acres of land.
But women with sickle cell anemia, widows, and disabled women are not excluded.
Documents Needed for Subhadra Yojana
To apply for Subhadra Yojana, you’ll need:
- Aadhaar Card with your name.
- Mobile number linked to your Aadhaar.
- A bank account that supports Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
- If your Aadhaar details are wrong, you’ll need to update them.
- If you don’t have a DBT-enabled bank account, you’ll need to open one and finish the e-KYC process.
How to Apply for Subhadra Yojana
Women can apply by filling out forms available for free at Block offices, Mo Seva Kendras, Jan Seva Kendras, and Anganwadi Centres. A call center will also be set up to help. Women who make the most digital payments with their Subhadra Yojana Debit Card will get rewards, and 100 women will be chosen for this reward.
