Rajasthan government launched Ghar Ghar Aushadhi Yojana (GGAY) on 1 August 2021 under the Nirogi Rajasthan Abhiyan. The scheme provides medicinal plant saplings as a gift to citizens across the state. Nurseries of the Rajasthan Forest department have been developing medicinal plant saplings for distribution to state residents. Rajasthan Ghar Ghar Aushadhi Yojana aims to reach out to all 1,26,50,000 families residing in the state (as per census 2011). The scheme gives an opportunity to all families to take home saplings of the four selected medicinal herbs:

A fund of ₹210 crore has been sanctioned by the state government for the five year scheme, of which ₹31.4 crore is spent in the first year for distributing more than 5 crore saplings among half of the households in the state. The following year an equal number of saplings is distributed among the remaining families.

Every family receives 8 saplings at a time, two of each of the four herbs. In five years, every family receives a total of 24 saplings. The distribution process starts from the monsoon season. • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Rajasthan state.
• The applicant must have a Jan Aadhaar card issued by the Rajasthan government.
• The applicant must have enough space at home to plant the saplings.
• The applicant must have an Aadhaar card along with the Jan Aadhaar card.

How to Get Medicinal Plant Saplings

STEP 2 - The medicinal plant saplings are given through these bodies before the start of the monsoon season, as the saplings are best planted during the monsoon.

STEP 3 - Fill the application form with complete details of the family and the place where the plants will be planted.

STEP 4 - Submit the filled form along with the required documents to the department to receive the saplings.
