SPICED Scheme Supply of Silpaulin Sheets Overview
SPICED stands for Sustainability in Spice Sector through Progressive, Innovative and Collaborative Interventions for Export Development. It replaced the earlier Integrated Scheme for Export Promotion and Quality Improvement in Spices and Research and Development of Cardamom, which ran during the 15th Finance Commission period from 2021-22 to 2025-26.
Silpaulin sheets work as a clean base for drying spices. Spices Board arranges central purchase of these sheets and supplies them to farmers and groups. The support reduces the cost of getting a proper drying surface.
SPICED scheme was approved for the 15th Finance Commission cycle. It has now been extended up to 30 September 2026 or until approval of the proposed scheme for the 16th Finance Commission cycle, whichever is earlier.
For 2026-27, farmers, farmer producer organizations (FPOs) and other people in the spice sector can apply online through the ServicePlus portal.

- Farmer groups: FPOs, FPCs and Spice Producer Societies under the Quality Gap Bridging Group (QGBG) program can get up to 90% of the sheet cost.
- Individual growers: Under the earlier Integrated Scheme, General category farmers got 50% support up to ₹2,000 per sheet and SC/ST farmers got 75% support up to ₹3,000 per sheet.

STEP 5 - Submit the application for processing by Spices Board and keep the application ID for future reference.
