Small as the amount is, it covers basic study costs like copies, stationery and exam-time expenses, and it keeps the student on the school rolls.
To get the money, the student must have passed the previous class and must not be taking any other scholarship at the same time. So a student already getting a post matric or pre matric scholarship cannot claim this one together with that.
How To Apply For This Scholarship
STEP 1 - Meet the Principal of your government school and tell them that your parent was a government employee who has died, is disabled, or has retired. Ask for the scholarship entry to be done for the running session.
STEP 2 - Give the school a copy of the death certificate, disability certificate, or retirement order of the parent, along with the Samagra ID, Aadhaar and the previous class passing certificate.
STEP 3 - Give a copy of the bank passbook of the student. The account should be linked with Aadhaar, otherwise the payment can get stuck at the bank end.
STEP 4 - School teacher fills your profile and scholarship details on the state Shiksha Portal using the school login. Parents do not need to log in anywhere.
STEP 5 - After the school submits, ask the Principal for your scholarship entry status once in a month or two. Payment comes into the student account after the department clears the list.
