For example, if a Class 11 student stays in a hostel and qualifies, he or she receives ₹3,800 every year to cover academic costs. A day scholar in the same class gets ₹2,300 per year.
Eligibility
To get the benefit of this scholarship, a student needs to meet the following conditions:
- Be a permanent resident of Uttarakhand and belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.
- Be enrolled in a recognised school or college within Uttarakhand, studying in Class 11 or a higher course.
- Have a family whose total annual income from all sources does not exceed ₹2.5 lakh. For example, if a parent earns ₹2 lakh a year, the student is eligible to apply.
- Apply for one academic year at a time, since the support is given for a single year only.

STEP 1 - Visit the official Uttarakhand e-Services page for this scheme and click on the Apply Now option, which takes you to the National Scholarship Portal login page.
STEP 2 - Complete the One Time Registration (OTR) on the National Scholarship Portal if you have not done it before, and fill in the application form correctly with your personal, academic and bank details.
STEP 3 - Upload all required documents, including the caste certificate, residence proof, bank passbook and income certificate.
STEP 4 - Submit the application through your official student ID to your educational institution. The institution verifies the details and forwards the application to the District Social Welfare Officer.
STEP 5 - After the physical and online verification is done, the scholarship amount is transferred to your bank account through the Public Financial Management System (PFMS).
