This scheme offers strong help for education costs. Girl students with family income below ₹2,50,000 get full reimbursement of tuition and academic fees. Those with income above ₹2,50,000 get 50% reimbursement.

An additional hostel allowance covers 50% of hostel charges, excluding mess, up to ₹30,000 per year. Fees like capitation, infrastructure and development levies are not counted while working out the reimbursement. If mess charges are bundled with hostel rent on the receipt, the authority treats 50% of the total as the base for the allowance.

If the student already gets a scholarship or cash benefit for the same year under any other UT or central scheme, including post matric scholarship, that amount is deducted from the benefit paid under this scheme.

Eligibility

These are the main conditions to apply for the scheme.

  • The applicant must be a girl student.
  • Father, husband, guardian or mother of the girl student must be a domicile resident of the UT of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.
  • The student should have studied Std 8th to 12th in any school of the UT. For a diploma taken after SSC or 10th, the student should have studied Std 6th to 10th in a school of the UT.
  • Only the first two daughters of a family can get the benefit.

Exclusions

The scheme does not cover professional courses done through correspondence or distance mode. Girl students who failed or have a backlog in the first attempt of any annual or semester exam of the claiming year cannot get the benefit. Students pursuing more than one course at a time are also not covered. Accommodation fees of students staying as paying guests or in a flat system are not reimbursed.
