NIDHI Seed Support Program (NIDHI-SSP) gives financial support to incubators so they can back new startups with promising ideas, innovations and technologies. The scheme works as a bridge between the development of new technology, products and services and their final commercialization, helping young businesses get off the ground.
Department of Science and Technology (DST) runs this program under the Ministry of Science and Technology. The main aim of NIDHI-SSP is to make sure seed support reaches potential startups on time through incubators, so they can take their ventures to the next level and succeed in the marketplace. It also helps incubators widen their pipeline of startups and stay sustainable over the long term.
NIDHI Seed Support Program (SSP) - Introduction
The scheme supports startups that have solid ideas and new technologies but need early money to move ahead. By offering seed funding through recognized Technology Business Incubators (TBIs), it lets startups work on proof of concept, prototype development, product trials, market entry and commercialization without unnecessary hurdles.
Incubators get financial help in phases, based on their needs, capacity and current performance. Startups, in turn, receive seed money to launch, grow and improve their position in the market. The program remains open for new rounds of applications announced from time to time by DST and the associated incubators.
