The award is presented annually at a special function on 2 January, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Lucasinho Ribeiro, the pioneer of Tiatr. Not more than 3 artistes are conferred this recognition each year, keeping the honor exclusive for those who have truly made a difference in the field.
Eligibility
To be considered for this honor, an artiste must meet the following criteria:
- The artiste should be at least 60 years of age as on 2 January of the award year. The age limit may be relaxed if the health of the artiste is not well.
- There should be a track record of at least 10 years of contribution to the field of tiatr.
- An actor, singer, stage manager, light provider, make-up artist, costume designer or musician should have performed in at least 10 tiatrs.

Important Conditions: Only Indian citizens can avail the benefit of this scheme. The artiste must be personally present to accept the award. Tiatr Academy of Goa confers this lifetime award only once, so anyone who has already received a similar honor for Commercial Tiatr, Khell, Khell-Tiatr or Konkani Cinema is not eligible again.
