STEP 1 - Go to the official board website ukbocw.uk.gov.in and open the Labour Management Information System (LMIS) from the menu. Workers who prefer offline can instead visit the nearest Jan Suvidha Kendra or Shramik Suvidha Kendra.

STEP 2 - Fill out the Labour Card application form with correct personal details and your legal nominee information.

STEP 3 - Attach recent passport-size photographs and the required documents, including the certificate proving 90 days of construction work in the last year.

STEP 4 - Pay the registration fee of ₹100 as per the process shown on the portal or at the centre.

STEP 5 - Wait for the department to check and verify the documents. Once verified, your details are entered in the Labour Register.

STEP 6 - Collect your Photo Identity Card from the Public Service Centre or the Labour Department office. Digital card details can also be checked on the LMIS portal.

Renewal Process

A labour card has to be renewed every three years to keep membership active. The renewal fee is another ₹100. If the deadline is missed, an authorised officer can reinstate the membership, and this is allowed only twice.
