Gopinath Munde Shetkari Apghat Suraksha Sanugrah Audhan Yojana is a Maharashtra government scheme that pays up to ₹2 lakh as compensation to farmer families when the farmer or a covered family member dies or becomes permanently disabled in an accident. The Maharashtra cabinet has extended this scheme till 31 March 2031, and from 1 January 2026 claims are filed online through the MahaDBT farmer portal.
This scheme now covers all members of a farmer family aged 10 to 75 years instead of only the registered farmer and one extra member. The approved amount is paid directly to the family bank account through DBT, and the accident cover works 24 hours a day throughout the year.
Gopinath Munde Shetkari Apghat Suraksha Sanugrah Audhan Yojana Overview
Maharashtra government started this scheme in 2023-24 to help the family of a farmer after an accidental death or permanent disability. Earlier the claim process was fully offline, and the family had to submit papers to the Taluka Agriculture Officer within 30 days.
