2026 Updates
The big update for 2026 is the pension hike. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the monthly pension under this scheme will go up from ₹1,000 to ₹1,500. The announcement was made on 15 June 2026, and a provision for this increase is being made in the supplementary budget of about ₹20,000 crore, which will be presented in the monsoon session of the assembly starting 4 August 2026. Once the budget provision is made, the increased pension will be transferred to beneficiary accounts.
In the 2026-27 state budget, ₹2,140 crore has been allocated for divyangjan empowerment, which is 8 percent more than last year. Out of this, ₹1,470 crore is for the divyang pension scheme itself. The government has also made it clear that pension will be paid only to those whose bank accounts are Aadhaar-seeded and whose e-KYC is complete. Beneficiaries who have not completed e-KYC should do it as soon as possible, otherwise their name can be removed from the payment list.
