Eligibility

To be part of Competition of Zomnivoilo Khell, you should meet the following requirements:

You must represent an institution or be an individual who organizes a Khell show. Your performance should have been staged during the current carnival season. You should follow the format of 8 to 10 cantos, where each canto includes 2 verses and one chorus. The total performance must last between 40 to 60 minutes. Your Khell should use traditional instruments like drums and two blowing instruments. For example, if Ramesh organizes a group, he must make sure the comedy fits the story and that no content hurts the sentiments of any caste, creed, religion, or institution. Artists are limited to taking part in only one group, while musicians can join multiple troupes. Finally, attending the required post-performance discussion is a must.

Application Process

You should follow these steps for the offline application process:

STEP 1 - Download and print the prescribed application format from the official source.

STEP 2 - Fill in all details carefully. Attach your documents and sign the form with the current date.

STEP 3 - Send your completed form to: Tiatr Academy of Goa, AS-1 / AS-4, Block A, 2nd Floor, Campal Trade Centre, Opposite Kala Academy, Campal, Panaji, Goa, India - 403001.

If more than 12 applications arrive, a lottery system will decide the participating troupes, except the top three winners from the previous year who get direct entry. Selected groups will receive instructions on the performance venue and timing through official communication.

Will we get a copy of the performance recording?

Yes, the academy records all performances, and the director receives a free Digital Versatile Disc.

Who receives the payment?

The financial support cheque is issued specifically to the applicant listed at Serial Number 1 of the application form.

How will I be notified of the performance schedule?

The organizing committee will communicate the date, time, and venue details well in advance.
