Ayush Oushadhi Gunvatta evam Uttpadan Samvardhan Yojana (AOGUSY) includes a dedicated component to strengthen the Central and State regulatory frameworks for Ayush drugs, with focus on technical manpower, training and capacity building. Ministry of Ayush runs this Central Sector Scheme for the period 2021-2026, and it remains open for proposals in the current financial year 2026-27.
This component works at two levels. At the Central level, it supports the Ayush vertical under the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) with training, documentation and digital regulatory infrastructure. At the State and UT level, it funds drug control systems, sample testing, workforce training and upkeep of regulatory portals.
Ayush Oushadhi Gunvatta evam Uttpadan Samvardhan Yojana (AOGUSY): Strengthening of Central and State Regulatory Frameworks Including Technical Human Resource and Capacity Building Programs for Ayush Drugs
Regulation of Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Homoeopathy (ASU&H) drugs in India is governed under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and the rules made under it. State Drug Controllers and State Licensing Authorities look after licensing and quality control of these drugs. This AOGUSY component helps these authorities work better by funding training, testing and digital tools.
At the Central level, the scheme assists the Ayush vertical under CDSCO with capacity building and training programs. At the State and UT level, it provides financial support for drug control systems, including sample testing, workforce training and maintenance of regulatory portals.
In 2026, the Ministry of Ayush has moved the digital processes for these schemes to the Ayush ANUDAN Portal, which was earlier known as the Ayush NGO Portal. License related activities for Ayush drugs are now handled through the e-Aushadhi portal.
