Atmanirbhar Tripura Scheme 2026 - Rs. 1 Crore Loan for OBC People to make them Self Reliant

Atmanirbhar Tripura Scheme 2026 was announced by the Tripura state government to help people of the Other Backward Class (OBC) community become self reliant. The OBC Welfare department planned to provide Rs. 1 crore as loan amount to eligible OBC people under this scheme.

Scheme has been closed or it was a one time scheme which has been closed by the government.

What is Atmanirbhar Tripura Scheme 2026

The OBC Welfare Department announced Atmanirbhar Tripura Scheme 2026 under which Rs. 1 crore would be given to OBC people to make them self reliant. The Director of OBC Welfare department Kuntal Das, in a letter addressed to the District Magistrates, requested them to select beneficiaries under their jurisdiction as per the scheme details and the numbers indicated against the respective district.

"The said list should be sent to the office of the undersigned. Beneficiary selection may kindly be made in consultation with the lead bank," the letter reads.

Atmanirbhar Tripura Scheme Eligibility Criteria

Only those candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned below would be able to get loans under Atmanirbhar Tripura Scheme. According to the modalities of the scheme, the following eligibility criteria must prevail:-

• Applicant must be a permanent resident of Tripura state.
• Applicant must belong to Other Backward Classes (OBC) category.
• Candidates who are under the Antyodaya, BPL or Priority household families as declared by Food and Civil Supplies Department are eligible.
• Applicants having annual family income less than Rs 1.20 lakh of OBC community will be eligible.

Each eligible candidate would be able to apply online for Atmanirbhar Tripura Scheme to get support for their livelihood.

Loan Details under Atmanirbhar Tripura Yojana

The official notification reads "8 percent interest of total loan for 6 years (1 year moratorium period) as above would be borne by OBC welfare department as interest subvention and rest excess of 0.8 percent to be borne by the beneficiary itself. The repayment of loan will be made by the beneficiaries in six years."
