Madhya Pradesh Transport Department is running the scholarship benefit of Motor Vehicle Driver-Conductor Welfare Scheme 2015, and registered commercial drivers, conductors and their children can apply for it through the district transport office. Money help for school and college studies is given as per the rules of the concerned department, and the scheme covers SC, ST, OBC and poor general category families of the state.
Registration on the Samagra portal is the first condition here. Without a Samagra Family ID and Member ID, the application does not move ahead. As of August 2026, the scheme rules of 2015 are still in force and no new benefit amount or separate online portal has been notified by the department.
Motor Vehicle Driver-Conductor Welfare Scheme Scholarship 2026 Details
This scholarship is one part of a bigger welfare package for commercial drivers and conductors in Madhya Pradesh. Other parts of the same scheme cover treatment costs, accident insurance, self-employment loans and awards for good drivers. Study support was added so that children of drivers and conductors do not drop out due to money problems.
Drivers do long duty hours and their income keeps changing month to month. School fees, hostel charges, books, exam fees, all of it adds up. This benefit gives some cushion for that. The amount is not fixed in the scheme document. It follows the scholarship rules of the department under which the student falls, so two students may get different amounts.

How to Get Samagra Registration Done
Samagra ID is the base record for most Madhya Pradesh welfare benefits, so finish this part first if your name is not there yet.
STEP 1 - Open the Samagra portal of Madhya Pradesh on your phone or computer and look for the Register Family or Register Member option on the home page.
STEP 2 - Enter your Aadhaar number, then verify the OTP that comes on the mobile number linked with Aadhaar.
STEP 3 - Fill in the family and member details asked on the form, upload the scanned documents, enter the captcha and submit. Note down the Samagra Family ID and Member ID that you get.
STEP 4 - If doing it online is a problem, walk into a Lok Seva Kendra, an MP Online kiosk or a Common Service Centre with your Aadhaar and get the registration done there.
How to Apply for the Scholarship
Application is offline. There is no separate scholarship website for this benefit, so do not fall for any private link asking for a fee.
STEP 1 - Download the scheme booklet from the Driver Conductor Welfare Scheme 2015 page of the transport department and go to the application form given on page 9 of the scheme guidelines PDF.
STEP 2 - Print the form and fill every column in clear handwriting. Licence number, Samagra IDs and bank account details should match the documents exactly, otherwise the form gets held up at verification.
STEP 3 - Attach self-attested copies of all required papers and paste a passport size photo on the form.
STEP 4 - Submit the complete set at your District Transport Office or Regional Transport Office and ask for a receipt. Keep that receipt safe, since you will need it while following up on the payment.
Documents Required
Keep photocopies as well as original papers ready when you go to the transport office. Missing papers are the most common reason for delay.
- Passport size photograph of the applicant and the student.
- Samagra Family ID and Samagra Member ID.
- Valid commercial driving licence or conductor licence issued in Madhya Pradesh.
- Residence proof of Madhya Pradesh, along with Aadhaar card.
- Caste certificate or income proof, as per the category claimed.
- Latest marksheet of the student and the fee receipt of the current course.
- Bank passbook copy with account number and IFSC code.
Other Benefits Under Same Scheme
Drivers and conductors registered under this welfare scheme can also apply for other supports from the same department. Details of each are given in separate guides on this site.
See the medical support benefit for treatment costs, the self-employment money help for buying a vehicle, the ₹2 lakh accident cover, the Sarathi Shri Award of ₹1 lakh, and the free skill training after permanent disability.
