Mukhyamantri Sampoorna Pushti Yojana: Adolescent Girls Nutrition is a state scheme of Odisha that provides daily supplementary nutrition to adolescent girls aged 15 to 19 years, helping them fight anaemia and grow healthy during their teenage years.
This component of the wider Mukhyamantri Sampoorna Pushti Yojana (MSPY) strategy is run by the Women and Child Development Department and stays in force from the financial year 2023-24 to 2027-28. The department has now raised the daily ration value for each eligible girl to ₹11.50.
Mukhyamantri Sampoorna Pushti Yojana: Adolescent Girls Nutrition - Introduction
The scheme improves the nutritional intake of adolescent girls across Odisha. While all adolescent girls aged 15 to 19 years receive support in general areas, coverage in the 10 designated Aspirational Districts is limited to young women aged 18 to 19 years. Kishori Melas are also organised at the ICDS project level to screen nutritionally at risk girls and carry out anaemia screening.
Each beneficiary receives nutrition worth ₹11.50 per day for 300 days every year. The Take Home Ration (THR) is delivered at the local Anganwadi centre on the first day of every month.
The total budget of the wider MSPY strategy is ₹3,354.40 crore over a period of five years. The scheme is implemented across all 338 Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) projects within the state.
