Gujarat government has launched Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana 2024 to provide Rs. 1 lakh loan at 2% interest rate scheme. This is state govt’s helping hand in the form of Rs. 5000 crore package for people. It includes small businessmen, skilled workers, autorickshaw owners, electricians and others whose economic activities have been disrupted.

The state government of Gujarat will pay another 6% interest to banks giving loan under the Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojna (AGSY) targeted at small businessmen. Gujarat govt. has announced Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana 2024 in which lower middle income group can avail guarantee-free loan of upto Rs. 1 lakh from banks. This loan amount will be provided at an annual interest rate of 2% as it seeks to help them get back to normal life disrupted by the Coronavirus. Moreover, govt. will also pay another 6% interest to banks giving loans under the scheme.

Where & How to Apply for Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana

The application forms for Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana will be available at more than 9000 places including about 1000 District Co-operative bank branches, 1400 urban co-operative bank branches and more than 7000 credit societies. Loans will be given by state cooperative bank, 18 district cooperative banks, 217 urban cooperative banks and credit societies.

The dully filled application form can be submitted at any of the branches of the District Co-operative banks, urban co-operative banks and credit societies in Gujarat along with the required documents.

How to Apply Online for Aatmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana

The state govt. of Gujarat will has not released any instructions for Aatmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana online applications. These applications may not be invited through the online mode or any web portal. People will have to make registration for this scheme by filling Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana application form available at the bank branches online.

As soon as the government releases any instructions about online application process, we will update it here.

This AGSY scheme aims to benefit small businessmen and cross section of people falling under the lower middle income group. As per the Aatmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojna, loan tenure will be of 3 years and payment of installments will begin after 6 months of loan disbursal. Earlier on 13 May 2020, central govt. has launched Aatm Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan (self reliant India campaign).

Who are Beneficiaries of Aatm Nirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana

The state government has launched Atmanirbhar Gujarat Scheme for the following group of people as mentioned below:-

A) Small businessmen
B) Skilled Workers
C) Autorickshaw owners
D) Electricians
E) Barbers
F) Other people with lower income

Various other states like Delhi has declared assistance of Rs. 5,000 or so to such people. The state govt. of Gujarat has an opinion that such a small amount will not bring their life back of normal.

Collateral Free Loans

Approximately 10 lakh such beneficiaries will be given loan of Rs. 1 lakh each from banks at just 2% annual interest to start their lives afresh under Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana. All the loans will be provided on the basis of application and no guarantee will be required. Gujarat govt. will pay remaining 6% interest on loan to banks.

The tenure of such loans will be of 3 years and re-payment of principal and interest will start after six months of sanction of loan amount. The state government has come up with this scheme after discussion with district, scheduled and cooperative banks. Furthermore, the state government will come out with detailed information on AGSY in a few days and loan will be made available to all those who are in need of it.

Gujarat Atmanirbhar (Self-Reliant) Package Details (Update on 5 June 2020)

** Language of Writing is as of the update date itself ** Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has announced Gujarat Atmanirbhar (Self-Reliant) package of Rs. 14,000 crore. This new package will help in reviving the economy which is effected badly due to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) lockdown. The new Gujarat Atmanirbhar package will include tax rebates to consumers in property tax / electricity bills / vehicle tax and loan subsidy for business and shop owners. The new Gujarat Atmanirbhar Package seeks to cover vast section of people and businesses in the state.

The Gujarat state is one of the most industrialized one in the country but has reported more than 18,500 COVID-19 cases till date. CM Vijay Rupani is providing relief to various sections of the society on the recommendations of committed headed by former finance secretary Hasmukh Adhia. The state govt. of Gujarat has decided to give relief to people in payment of property tax, electricity bills and vehicle tax.

Features of Gujarat Atmanirbhar (Self-Reliant) Package

The important features and highlights of the Gujarat Atmanirbhar Package are as follows:-

Rebate in Property Tax / Electricity Bills / Vehicle Tax

• Commercial establishments, businesses, offices, hotels, restaurants, shops, hospitals will get a rebate of 20% in their annual property tax bills.
• All the residential property owners will get 10% rebate as per the details of Gujarat Atmanirbhar Package. This rebate in property tax bills will provide direct benefit to people to the tune of Rs. 744 crore.
• Electricity consumers who utilizes less than 200 units per month will get rebate on first 100 units of consumption. This will cost Rs. 200 crore to the state exchequer and the state govt. will give the amount to power companies.
• Moreover, various rebates have been announced for commercial and industrial consumers of electricity.
• Private buses, jeeps, taxis have been given relief of payment of road tax and tax for six months due to the lockdown.

The total relief for property tax, electricity bills and vehicle tax comes to the tune of Rs. 2,300 crore according to the Gujarat Atmanirbhar (Self Reliant) Package.

Loan Interest Subsidy for Business & Shop Owners

The state govt. of Gujarat announces to provide loan interest subsidy of 4% for loans of upto Rs. 2.5 lakh for business and shop owners. Out of the total 8% interest rate, 4% interest would have to be paid by the borrower while the remaining 4% interest is to be paid by the Gujarat government. The state govt. has allocated Rs. 525 crore for loan interest subsidy.

Revival of Industries / Housing Sector

Gujarat govt. has announced subsidy for various industries worth Rs. 3,038 crore while Rs. 458-crore relief was given to GIDC (Gujarat Industrial Development Corp) for promotion of industries. To revive the housing sector in Gujarat, the state govt. has announced Rs. 1,000 crore.

Labour Welfare

The state govt. of Gujarat has earmarked Rs. 466 crore for labour welfare. It includes benefits of Rs. 35,000 to each tribal labourer who works in different parts of Gujarat and wants to build house in their hometown.

Direct Transfer of Rs. 1,000 to Poor

The other benefits of Gujarat Atmanirbhar Package are of Rs. 5,044 crore. It includes free ration to poor families during the period of lockdown and direct transfer of Rs 1,000 in their accounts.

The state govt. has also decided to allocate Rs. 100 crore to the health department and another Rs 100 crore to four municipal corporations namely Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot. Gujarat govt. will provide this amount from the Chief Ministers Relief Fund to fight the novel coronavirus.
