Below is the complete process to fill Transgender ID Card online application form 2026:-
STEP 1: Firstly visit the official National Portal for Transgender Persons at transgender.dosje.gov.in
STEP 2: At the homepage, click at the "Registration" link or directly open https://transgender.dosje.gov.in/Applicant/Registration/Index
STEP 3: The Transgender ID Card online registration form will appear as shown below:-
STEP 4: Afterwards, make login at the homepage of National Portal for Transgender Persons through the link https://transgender.dosje.gov.in/Applicant/Login/Index. The login page will appear as below:-
STEP 5: Applicants can enter their "Username" and "Password" sent on their e-mail ID and click at the Login button.

Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Act 2026
Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Act, 2026 came into force on 25 May 2026. This amendment changed the way transgender identity is recognized. The earlier right to self-perceived gender identity under the 2019 Act has been removed, and medical scrutiny is now a required step for legal recognition of transgender status. For the 2021-2026 period, government allotted ₹390 crore for the SMILE scheme, which covers transgender welfare and rehabilitation of people engaged in begging.
