Award for Success in State Public Service Commission, Union Public Service Commission Examination (MPBOCWWB) 2026: ₹15,000 to ₹50,000 Cash Reward, Eligibility and Apply Process

Madhya Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board is running the Award for Success in State Public Service Commission, Union Public Service Commission Examination scheme in 2026, and applications are being accepted at district labour offices. Sons and daughters of registered construction workers get between ₹15,000 and ₹50,000 as a cash reward when they clear the prelims or mains of MPPSC or UPSC.

Scheme started on 1 November 2017 under the Labour Department, Madhya Pradesh. Money goes straight to the bank account of the student through DBT payment. There is no application fee. As on August 2026, the reward amounts are the same as the earlier notification, and no closure order has been issued.

Idea behind this scheme is simple. A construction worker's income is small and uncertain, so a child preparing for civil services often runs short of money right when the next stage of the exam is near. This reward gives that child some cash after each cleared stage, so coaching fees, books, travel to the exam city and interview preparation become a little easier. Board runs it along with other worker welfare schemes like the Tool/Equipment Purchase Subsidy Scheme and Videsh Siksha Yojana.

Only the parent's registration with the Board matters here, not the student's caste. So a registered worker family of any category can apply. Reward is given per stage cleared, which means a student who clears the UPSC prelims and later the mains can claim at both stages.

Who Can Apply

Two sets of conditions apply here. First the parent must be a proper registered worker with the Board, and then the student must meet the age and exam conditions. Both are checked at the labour office before approval.

• Parent must be a construction worker registered with the Madhya Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, holding a valid identity card that has not expired.
• Parent should be a resident of Madhya Pradesh, aged 18 to 60 years, and should have done construction work for at least 90 days in the past 12 months.
• Registration has to be renewed on time, because an expired card is the most common reason applications get rejected.
• Student applying must be the son or daughter of that registered worker and must be between 18 and 45 years of age.
• Student must have cleared the preliminary or main exam of MPPSC or UPSC, with a result or selection letter to prove it.

Apply Online Process

Online applications for Board schemes are taken through the MP e-District portal. Keep scanned copies of the labour card, result proof and bank passbook ready before starting.

STEP 1 - Open the MP e-District portal at mpedistrict.gov.in and log in with your registered mobile number and password. If you do not have an account, register once using your Aadhaar linked mobile number and set a password.

STEP 2 - Go to the Labour Department services section and pick the reward scheme for success in State Public Service Commission or Union Public Service Commission exam under the construction workers Board.

STEP 3 - Fill the form with the worker registration number printed on the labour card, the student's name, date of birth, exam name, roll number and the year in which the result was declared.

STEP 4 - Upload the labour card copy, the result or selection letter, Aadhaar, bank passbook first page and a passport size photo. Check the account number twice, since a wrong number holds up the DBT payment.

STEP 5 - Submit the form and save the application reference number. Same number is used later to track the status on the portal or at the labour office.

Apply Offline Process

Many families still find the office route easier, and it is fully allowed under the scheme rules.

STEP 1 - Visit the office of the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Labour Officer or Assistant Labour Officer in your district and ask for the prescribed form for this reward scheme.

STEP 2 - Fill the form in clear handwriting and attach self attested copies of every required document, including the registration card copy and the exam result proof.

STEP 3 - Submit the file at the counter and take a stamped receipt. Keep that receipt safe, because it is the proof of the date of submission if the six month time limit is ever questioned.

Documents Required

Papers asked for are simple and most families already have them at home.

• Valid labour identity card issued by the Board, with current renewal.
• Result sheet or selection letter of the MPPSC or UPSC prelims or mains.
• Aadhaar card of the student and proof of residence in Madhya Pradesh.
• Bank passbook copy of the student's own account, linked with Aadhaar for the DBT payment.
• Birth certificate or any age proof, and a recent passport size photo.

Last Date to Apply

There is no yearly window here. Claim has to be filed within 6 months of the date on which the exam result was declared. So a student who cleared the UPSC prelims in 2026 should file the claim within six months of that result date, not wait for the mains. Late files are usually rejected at the office level.

Yes. Board is still giving the reward and no closure order has come. Claims are accepted at district labour offices through the year.

How much money will a UPSC mains qualified student get?

₹50,000 for clearing the UPSC main exam. Prelims of UPSC gives ₹25,000 separately.

Is the reward only for SC or ST students?

No. Caste is not a condition here. What matters is that the parent is a registered construction worker with the Board.
