Madhya Pradesh government is running Subsistence and Transport Allowance to Disabled Students for Pursuing Education in Computer and Management for students with disabilities who are studying computer or management courses in government colleges. Eligible students get their course fee reimbursed, ₹1,500 every month as subsistence allowance and up to ₹500 every month for travel, and about 2,000 students are covered each year.

Higher Education Department runs this scheme. Family income of the student must stay within ₹1,00,000 a year. As checked on 03 August 2026, the scheme is still running and applications are taken through the college and the regional office when the department releases its notice.

Subsistence and Transport Allowance to Disabled Students in Madhya Pradesh

Money problems stop many students with disabilities from finishing a professional course. Travel alone eats up a big part of the monthly budget. This scheme handles both sides, the fee and the daily cost of reaching college, so a student can stay in the course till the end.

Benefit goes only to students of government colleges in Madhya Pradesh. Private college students are not covered. Payment reaches the student through DBT payment into the bank account linked with Aadhaar, so the account details must be correct and active.

Benefits You Get

Support under this scheme comes in three parts, and a student can get all three together if the eligibility is met.

Benefit Type Amount
Fee Reimbursement Full fee of the computer or management course
Subsistence Allowance ₹1,500 per month
Transport Allowance (Municipal Corporation area) ₹500 per month
Transport Allowance (Municipal Council area) ₹300 per month

Who Can Apply

Rules are simple and mostly about where you live, your disability status and your family income. Check the points below before you fill the form.

  • You should be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh, and a domicile certificate will be asked for proof.
  • You should be a person with disability as per the government definition, with a valid disability certificate from a government hospital or medical board.
  • You should be studying a computer or management course in a government college inside Madhya Pradesh.
  • Family yearly income from all sources should not be above ₹1,00,000, and an income certificate is needed for this.
  • Students from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe families are covered, and seats are given as per the department notice for that session.

How to Apply

There is no separate online form only for this scheme. Applications open when Directorate of Higher Education releases the notice for the session, and the college helps with the paperwork.

STEP 1 - Watch the official website of Higher Education Department at highereducation.mp.gov.in and the notice board of your college for the scheme notice of the running session.

STEP 2 - Collect the application form from the scholarship section of your college, or download it from the department notice if it is given there.

STEP 3 - Fill in your name, course, college code, disability certificate number, bank account number and IFSC exactly as written in the passbook, since a wrong account number is the most common reason payment fails.

STEP 4 - Attach self-attested copies of the required documents and submit the form in your college office within the last date given in the notice.

STEP 5 - College forwards the file to the Regional Additional Director, who checks the details and approves it. After approval the fee reimbursement and monthly allowance come into your bank account through DBT payment.

Documents Required

Keep clear copies of these papers ready before you go to the college office, because an incomplete file gets returned and you lose time.

  • Aadhaar card of the student, linked with the bank account for DBT payment
  • Disability certificate issued by a government medical board
  • Madhya Pradesh domicile certificate
  • Income certificate showing family income within ₹1,00,000 a year
  • Marksheet of the last exam passed and the college admission or enrolment proof
  • Bank passbook first page with account number and IFSC
  • Two passport size photographs

2026 Update

Scheme was verified as running in June 2026 and no closure order has come from Higher Education Department. Benefit amounts are the same, ₹1,500 subsistence and ₹500 or ₹300 transport as per the local body area. Apply dates change every session, so the notice on the department website is the only correct source for the last date.
