Meghalaya government has launched Organic Manure Scheme to help farmers produce organic compost and reduce dependency on chemical inputs. In 2025-26, ₹8,50,000 was sanctioned for 34 beneficiaries in West Garo Hills alone.

Farmers receive 75% financial assistance to establish vermicomposting units under this scheme. ₹25,000 is provided against a unit cost of ₹33,335, making it easier for farmers to start composting at their own homes and farms.

Application Process
