Benefits Under the Scheme

Krishi Vidya Nidhi Yojana gives financial support based on merit for different professional and technical courses. The benefit structure depends on the type of institution where the student is enrolled.

For students studying in government institutions, the scheme covers tuition fees, annual fees, one-time fees, and hostel charges. Refundable deposits and caution money are not covered. Students admitted to private institutions within Odisha receive support based on the fee structure mentioned in the official guidelines Annexure-1.

Students admitted to premier institutions like IITs, IIMs, NITs, AIIMS, ICAR institutions, and similar top-tier colleges get scholarship coverage up to the lower of actual recommended fees or ₹1,00,000 per year.

In addition to fee coverage, eligible students also receive a monthly hostel and mess allowance depending on their course level.

Eligibility Criteria

You must meet the following requirements to apply for Krishi Vidya Nidhi Yojana:

STEP 1 - You must be a permanent resident and domicile of Odisha state. A valid residence certificate will be required during the application process.

STEP 2 - You should be the child of an eligible beneficiary under the CM-KISAN scheme. This includes farmers receiving cultivation support as well as landless agricultural households getting livelihood support.

STEP 3 - Your parent's status as a CM-KISAN beneficiary will be verified by the Chief District Agriculture Officer (CDAO) during the application review.

Students admitted to private institutions located outside the state of Odisha are also not eligible. Self-financing course students in government or private institutions are only eligible for the capped fee structure as per guidelines.

STEP 1 - Visit the official Odisha State Scholarship Portal at scholarship.odisha.gov.in. Navigate to the Scheme section on the homepage and find Krishi Vidya Nidhi Yojana in the list of available scholarships.

STEP 2 - Click the Apply button against the scheme. If you are a new user, select Register Now. Enter your Aadhaar number and complete the OTP-based authentication. Create a password and finish the registration process.

STEP 3 - After successful registration, go back to the scheme page and click Apply again. Log in using your registered Aadhaar number and the password you created.
