Financial Assistance to Dramatic Troupes participating in Kala Academy s Annual Tiatr Competition - Introduction

Financial Assistance to Dramatic Troupes participating in Kala Academy s Annual Tiatr Competition encourages non-commercial dramatic troupes taking part in Kala Academy s yearly Tiatr Festival to stage tiatrs of better quality. The scheme gives money help for key production parts such as direction, stage setting, live band music, light effects, background music, costumes, make-up and transport, so artists can focus on their craft.

Beyond cash support, Tiatr Academy of Goa video records the performance for its library and for other uses, preserving the presentation for future generations. The scheme also lays down clear rules on the traditional format of the tiatr, the number of kantaram, and the marks a troupe must score to keep getting benefits in the next competition.
