Disability Pension for the Construction Workers

Delhi government has launched the Disability Pension for the Construction Workers through the Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. Under this scheme, a monthly disability pension of ₹3,000 is available to registered construction workers who become permanently disabled due to paralysis, leprosy, T.B., or accidents.

The scheme was notified under Rule 275 of the Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2002. Eligible workers who suffer permanent disability also receive a one-time ex-gratia payment of ₹1 lakh. This amount has been available since the rule was framed and remains unchanged for 2026.

Disability Pension for the Construction Workers

This scheme helps registered construction workers in Delhi who have lost their ability to work because of a permanent disability. The Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board runs it. Each month, a fixed amount of ₹3,000 goes into the bank account of the eligible worker. The Board is funded through the building and construction workers cess paid by employers on every construction project.

For Registration

A worker should be a resident of Delhi, currently working as a building or construction worker, between 18 to 60 years of age, and have worked for the Board for at least 90 days in the past year.

For Disability Claim

The worker must be certified as permanently disabled with 40% or more benchmark disability as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. The disability should be due to paralysis, leprosy, T.B., or a work-related accident.

Steps to Apply

STEP 1 - Visit the DBoCWWB official website at dbocwwb.delhi.gov.in and click on the 'Apply for Scheme' option from the login section on the homepage.

STEP 2 - Log in using your Aadhaar number, Registration Card details, or OTP authentication. If you are a new user, use the migration option to move your existing e-District registration to the new DBoCWWB portal at dbocwwb.delhi.gov.in.

STEP 3 - Select the 'Disability Pension' option from the available schemes and fill in all the required details accurately.

STEP 4 - Upload your Permanent Disability Certificate issued by a government doctor or medical board showing 40% or more benchmark disability as per RPwD Act, 2016. Also upload your Aadhaar, address proof, and bank details for the pension transfer.
