Madhya Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board is running Death Assistance Scheme (MPBOCWWB) in 2026 for families of registered construction workers. Family of a worker gets ₹6,000 as funeral money along with ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh on normal death and ₹4 lakh if the death happened in an accident.
Scheme started back in 2004 and it still runs through the Labour Department of Madhya Pradesh. Claim has to be filed within 6 months of the death or accident, and the worker's board card should be live with contribution paid at that time.
Death Assistance Scheme (MPBOCWWB) Details
Building work is risky work. When a registered mason, carpenter, painter or labourer dies, the family is left with funeral costs and no income. This scheme covers both parts. Money help for the last rites comes first, then the bigger ex-gratia amount goes to the legal heir through DBT payment in the bank account.
Disability is also covered. If a worker becomes permanently disabled in an accident, ₹2 lakh is paid, and for partial permanent disability the amount is ₹1 lakh. Payment goes to the worker himself in disability cases.
