AICTE-Lilavati Award
The award celebrates and recognizes the new and first efforts of AICTE-approved institutions in treating women with equality and fairness. The scheme encourages stakeholders, especially girl students, to proactively address critical issues like gender discrimination, illiteracy, and economic disparities. Whether you have initiated community change or contributed to women's emancipation, this platform allows you to showcase your impactful work.
Core Objectives:
- To promote awareness regarding sanitation, hygiene, health, and nutrition by using indigenous knowledge.
- To spread information about literacy, employment, technology, skill development, and legal rights.
- To empower women through digital literacy, including the use of mobile apps, online banking, and financial tools.
- To work toward the welfare of adolescent girls and women by making sure of better access to reproductive health services.
- To bridge the gap between government policies and beneficiaries by making sure women are knowledgeable about available support schemes.
- To encourage self-reliance and entrepreneurship skills among rural women, encouraging community mobilization.
- To boost the competitive spirit of young women in sports and encourage them to pursue diverse professions, including those in safety forces.
Sub-themes for Application:
You may submit your entries as a short video clip (4 to 5 minutes) covering interventions in the following areas:
- Women and Adolescent Health: Nutrition, maternal mortality, and overall wellness.
- Self Defense: Safety programs, confidence building, and tackling workplace harassment.
- Environment, Sanitation, & Hygiene: Cleanliness, water conservation, and home-based hygiene.
- Literacy and Life Skills: Functional literacy and reducing girl student dropout rates.
- Women Entrepreneurship: Business opportunities, microfinance, and self-employment.
- Legal Awareness: Education on women's rights and gender equality.
- Technology for Women: Innovative digital solutions and craft-based development.
- Women Innovators: Supporting research, patents, and rural/urban innovations.

Eligibility
To participate, your team must meet the following criteria:
- The team must consist of students, faculty, or both from an AICTE-approved technical institution or Deemed University.
- You must have held a big, effective intervention related to the sub-themes within the last two years.
- Example: If Anita and her team of 4 college students organized a successful digital literacy drive in their village, they qualify to apply.
Important Note: A team size is limited to 5 members, and it must include at least 2 women members.
Application Process
You should submit your application entirely online by following these steps:
STEP 1 - Visit the official AICTE website at https://www.aicte.gov.in/ and look for the Lilavati Award section under the Students Development Schemes page.
STEP 2 - Register your institute using your Permanent Institute ID. Note that the previous portal at lilavati.aicte-india.org is no longer reachable. Check the AICTE official site for the current registration link.
STEP 3 - Activate your account via the link sent to your registered email and log in to fill in the Institute and Head of Institute details.
STEP 4 - Navigate to the Faculty tab to verify faculty information.
STEP 5 - Complete Application Form 1 and Application Form 2 by selecting your preferred theme and category.
STEP 6 - Add your student and faculty members by entering their respective IDs.
STEP 7 - Create your activity profile for the selected theme, with a maximum of 5 distinct activities per theme.
STEP 8 - Upload your project details, save as a draft, and finalize your submission by clicking Submit Application. Check the AICTE official notice for the latest application dates.

- Geotagged photographs of the project site.
- Letters of appreciation from government bodies or organizations.
- Media clippings (print or electronic) showcasing your work.
