AP Vahana Mitra Scheme 2025: ₹15,000 for Auto & Cab Drivers - Check Status and Details

Online applications for AP Vahana Mitra Scheme 2025, which gives ₹15,000 every year to self-owned auto rickshaw, taxi, and maxi cab drivers in Andhra Pradesh, started on 17th September 2025. The scheme was launched on 13th September 2025 (G.O. Ms. No. 33) to help drivers meet expenses like insurance, vehicle fitness certificate, repairs, and maintenance.

Scheme has been closed or it was a one time scheme which has been closed by the government.

Update: AP Vahana Mitra Scheme has been renamed to "Auto Drivers Sevalo" and the final beneficiary list was published on the GSWS portal on 24th September. Applications for the 2025 cycle are now closed.

From cities like Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam to small towns and rural areas, the scheme covered lakhs of auto and cab drivers. The amount was credited directly to eligible drivers' bank accounts from 1st October 2025 under the supervision of the Chief Minister.

The scheme was started for drivers who own and operate their vehicles. Goods carriers such as cargo autos or mini trucks were not covered. Only passenger vehicles like autos, motor cabs, and maxi cabs were eligible.

AP Vahana Mitra Scheme 2025: Application Process

Applications for the 2025 cycle were submitted through the official Gram/Ward Sachivalayam and Village/Ward Secretariats (GSWS) portal at the nearest Secretariat. Here is how the process worked.

Application process for new beneficiaries - Go to the nearest Grama Sachivalayam or Ward Sachivalayam and submit the Vahana Mitra application through the Digital Assistant / Data Processing Secretary present there. There was no application fee; applying was free.

Application process for existing beneficiaries - Drivers who benefited from Vahana Mitra Scheme in 2023 did not need to apply again. The verification and eKYC process for 2025 was done for them. Those who received benefits in 2023 but whose name was not in the 2025 beneficiary list had to re-apply.

STEP 1 - Keep documents like Aadhaar card, white ration card or BPL card, driving license, vehicle registration certificate, and proof of no pending challans ready.

STEP 2 - Visit the nearest village or ward secretariat for online application. The digital assistant or secretary helped fill the online application form using the process given below.

STEP 3 - Digital Assistant / Data Processing Secretary logged in to the GSWS online portal using credentials. The ₹15,000 scheme for auto rickshaw and cab drivers was active on the portal from 17th September 2025.

STEP 4 - After login, select "Financial Assistance to Auto and Maxi Cab Owners (Auto Drivers Sevalo) > New Application Form" from the BM Scheme module, as shown in the below image.

STEP 5 - Enter the Aadhaar number and click Pre-Fill. Many household details including address, date of birth, name, family member name, and Pin code were filled automatically. Enter all other details such as vehicle and bank details, and upload scanned copies of the required documents.

STEP 6 - Verify the family member details and move to the next step.

STEP 7 - Enter the vehicle RC number (Registration Certificate). If the RC number is valid, the details appear. Then select the family member who owns a driving license, enter the district RTO DL number, and upload the driving license copy.

STEP 8 - Submit the application. The local welfare assistant checks the details and forwards them for higher-level approval.

STEP 9 - Mandal Parishad Development Officers (MPDOs) in rural areas or Municipal Commissioners in cities review the application and send it to the District Collector for final approval.

STEP 10 - If approved, the money is credited to the bank account through the community corporation concerned.

Check Application Status

After the application is complete, you can check the application status on NBM portal by selecting the scheme name and entering the Aadhaar number in the form.

Select "Auto Drivers Sevalo" in the scheme, enter the Aadhaar number in UID, select 2025-2026 in the year, enter the captcha and click GET OTP.

Enter the OTP received on the Aadhaar linked mobile number and the application and payment status will be displayed on the page.

Eligibility Criteria for AP Vahana Mitra Scheme

To receive ₹15,000 under this scheme, drivers had to follow these rules:

• Driver and vehicle owner must be the same person.
• Vehicle must be a passenger auto, motor cab, or maxi cab registered in Andhra Pradesh.
• Driving license must be valid and issued in Andhra Pradesh.
• Fitness certificate was required for motor cabs and maxi cabs. For autos, it was exempted in 2025 but had to be obtained within one month of applying.
• Applicant must have an Aadhaar card and white ration card.
• Only one vehicle per family is eligible.
• Families with government employees or pensioners were not eligible, except families of sanitary workers.
• Income tax payees could not apply.
• Household electricity use had to be below 300 units per month on average.
• Landholding must not exceed 3 acres of wet land or 10 acres of dry land. In towns and cities, the family must not own more than 1000 sq. ft. of residential or commercial property.
• Vehicles taken on rent or lease were not eligible.
• Vehicles with pending challans or dues were disqualified.
• Families already benefiting from other government driver schemes were not eligible.
