Odisha Chhatra Protsahan Yojana 2024 – Free Coaching Scheme for SC / ST Students

Odisha government led by CM Naveen Patnaik has launched Chhatra Protsahan Yojana 2024 on 4 October 2021. In this scheme, the state govt. will provide free coaching for medical and engineering entrance examinations to ST and SC students of the state. Around 320 ST and SC students of the state would be provided with this free coaching. In this article, we will tell you about the complete details of the Odisha Chhatra Protsahan Yojana.

What is Odisha Chhatra Protsahan Yojana 2024

On 4 October 2021, Odisha Chhatra Protsahan Yojana has been launched to provide free coaching for medical / engineering entrance exams to SC and ST students of the state. In this scheme, govt. will provide free training to 320 SC / ST students in various districts across the state. Moreover, to identify and nurture the potential of ST/SC students from a young age, 7 centres of excellence have been set up in the schools run by the department. In those centres, free of cost coaching will be provided to students.

Eligibility Criteria for Odisha Chhatra Protsahan Yojana 2024

Here is the complete eligibility criteria which must be fulfilled to avail benefits of Odisha Chhatra Protsahan Yojana:-

• Applicant must be a permanent resident of Odisha State.
• He / She must belong to either scheduled caste (SC) or scheduled tribe (ST) category.
• Candidate must have obtained merit in class 10th examinations.
• He / She must have cleared selection test held among the students who have passed matric from SSD high schools.

Selection of Students for Odisha Chhatra Protsahan Yojana

The students for the free coaching under Odisha Chhatra Protsahan Yojana will be selected on the basis of class 10 merit and a selection test from among the students who have passed matric from the SSD high schools. Currently, Education department is running 62 higher secondary schools in 14 districts. Every year, more than 30,000 ST and SC students appear in the annual matriculation examination. Now SC / ST students securing merit and clearing the selection test would be able to get free coaching.

How to Apply Online for Odisha Chhatra Protsahan Yojana

Just like free coaching schemes in other states like Abhyuday Yojana in Uttar Pradesh, the state govt. will invite Odisha Chhatra Protsahan Yojana online application form. The registration forms for free coaching scheme in Odisha may be invited at the state education department’s website at sme.odisha.gov.in or at a dedicated new portal (to be launched soon). Benefit of Odisha Free Coaching Scheme

Odisha Free Coaching Scheme has been prepared to keep in mind the needs of the students residing in deep tribal pockets who are unable to realize their potential due to lack of access to better coaching opportunities. On this occasion of launch of Odisha Chhatra Protsahan Yojana, the education department has also signed MoUs with the coaching agencies selected for this programme. These agencies will be providing on site medical and engineering coaching and preparatory training to the selected ST/SC students in the 7 Centres of Excellence.
