Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana (MMMPY) is the new name of the earlier Indira Gandhi Matritva Poshan Yojana run by the Rajasthan government. The scheme was first started on 19 November 2020 by the previous government under the name Indira Gandhi Matritva Poshan Yojana. After the change of government, the scheme was renamed Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana. The Women and Child Development Department of Rajasthan runs the scheme along with the Medical and Health Department. The main aim is to make sure pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and children up to 3 years stay healthy and get proper nutrition.
Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana Rajasthan 2026
The Rajasthan government provides financial support of Rs. 6,000 to women who are pregnant with their second child. This money is sent directly to the bank account of the eligible woman in three parts. The scheme covers all districts of the state and is meant to improve the nutrition of mothers and young children.
More than 5 lakh pregnant women of Rajasthan have received around Rs. 170 crore under this scheme so far. The money is transferred through the Raj-Poshan and PCTS portals of the Rajasthan government.
Installments and Amount in Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana
Under the current structure, the total assistance of Rs. 6,000 is given in three installments. The earlier five-stage payment plan has been changed to this simpler three-part plan.
- First installment of Rs. 1,000 - given when the pregnancy is registered during the first check-up.
- Second installment of Rs. 1,000 - given after the woman completes at least two antenatal (pre-delivery) check-ups.
- Third installment of Rs. 4,000 - given after the birth of the child.
The full amount of Rs. 6,000 is paid only for the second child. Women who are already getting benefit under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana cannot apply for this scheme at the same time.
Eligibility for Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana
Only women who meet the eligibility conditions can get the benefit of this scheme. The main points are given below.
- The woman must be a permanent resident of Rajasthan.
- The woman must be pregnant with her second child.
- Women already registered under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana are not eligible.
- Women who had twins in their first pregnancy are not eligible.
- In case of remarriage, if either partner already has more than one child, the woman is not eligible.
- Women working in the central or state government or any public sector unit are not eligible.
Women who do not fall under the above conditions can apply for the scheme through their nearest Anganwadi center.
Documents Required for Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana
Applicants need to keep the following documents ready while applying for the scheme.
- Family Jan Aadhaar card or Bhamashah card.
- Aadhaar card of the woman applicant.
- Bank account number with IFSC code.
- MAMTA card or first antenatal check-up report.
- Mobile number.
These documents are checked by the Anganwadi worker and then the application is sent to the Medical and Health Department for final approval.
How to Apply for Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana
The application process for this scheme is offline. Women can apply with the help of their nearest Anganwadi worker. The steps are given below.
STEP 1 - Visit the nearest Anganwadi or ANM worker office and collect the Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana application form free of cost.
STEP 2 - Fill in the form with correct details and attach all the required documents with it.
STEP 3 - Submit the filled form along with the documents to the same Anganwadi office.
STEP 4 - The Anganwadi worker checks the form and forwards it to the Medical and Health Department office.
STEP 5 - The Medical and Health Department verifies the details and registers the woman on the PCTS portal of the Rajasthan government.
STEP 6 - After registration, the first installment is released into the bank account within 30 days. The remaining installments are paid automatically after the woman completes the required check-ups and the birth of the child.
