Kerala Water Authority (KWA) offers free drinking water to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families across Kerala. Eligible households receive up to 15 kiloliters (15,000 litres) of free water every month under this scheme.
KWA BPL application for 2026 was accepted online from January 1 to January 31, 2026 through the official portal at bplapp.kwa.kerala.gov.in. The application window for 2026 has now closed.
Both BPL families who already get the benefit and those who need it for the first time had to apply before the last date. The benefit is given after matching the E-Abacus details of the consumer with the ration card details on the Civil Supplies website.
From this year, the free water benefit is also given to families living in rented houses. These applicants need to upload a copy of the rental agreement and the consent letter of the house owner along with the application.
