Assam government has launched CM's Jibon Anuprerana Scheme to support full-time PhD research scholars studying in central or state universities within the state. The scheme gives a one-time grant of ₹25,000 to regular research scholars and ₹40,000 to Divyang (differently-abled) research scholars to encourage research and innovation.

Applications are processed online through the DIDS portal at dids.assam.gov.in. The scheme was announced in the 2025-26 state budget and launched by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on 26 February 2026. The Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training is the nodal agency that runs the scheme.

CM's Jibon Anuprerana Scheme - Introduction

CM's Jibon Anuprerana Scheme is a state-level support scheme run by the Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship Department of Assam. It gives a one-time financial boost to full-time research scholars and Divyang research scholars who are pursuing their PhD in central or state universities located within Assam. The money is transferred directly to the verified bank account of the eligible scholar through DBT.

The scheme does not cover scholars enrolled in private or open universities. Scholars who are current or past beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme cannot apply either. The whole process is handled online through the Digital Infrastructure for DBT Schemes (DIDS) portal.
