Eligibility

To be eligible for this award, an artisan needs to meet the following criteria:

• Should be a permanent resident of Uttarakhand.

• Should be skilled in traditional or extraordinary art forms and have made a big contribution to the field.
• Should have actively helped in training young, aspiring artisans.
• Should not be employed in any government, semi-government, cooperative, or union institution. For example, a private carpenter with 20 years of work qualifies, but a government school teacher in the same field does not.

Note: Preference is given to artisans who have already received national or state-level awards.

Application Process

STEP 1 - Get the application form from the General Manager of the local District Industries Centre or download it from the official guidelines document or the departmental website.

STEP 2 - Prepare the application along with all the required supporting documents.

STEP 3 - Submit the completed application form to the District Industries Centre of the district.

Selection Process:

A District-Level Selection Committee, chaired by the District Magistrate, reviews the applications first. They then forward the nominations of outstanding artisans to the State-Level Selection Committee, headed by the Principal Secretary of the MSME Department, for final selection.
