Sheti Samrudhi Yojana gives financial support to tribal farmers cooperatives in Goa for office infrastructure, staff wages and administrative costs. Directorate of Tribal Welfare, Government of Goa, revised this scheme in June 2025, and the updated rules are in force for the 2026-27 period.

This scheme helps tribal farmer groups improve food security, reduce poverty and manage natural resources at the community level. It also covers preparation of conservation management plans for community forest resources under the Forest Rights Act.

Sheti Samrudhi Yojana - Introduction

Sheti Samrudhi Yojana helps tribal farmers cooperatives by supporting community-level action for agricultural development and wise management of natural resources. Around 70 per cent of the tribal population in Goa lives in remote villages and depends on agriculture and marginal forest produce, so this scheme focuses on groups that can cultivate land together and raise output per acre.

The scheme brings together scientific expertise, traditional knowledge and modern development methods through partnerships with national and international research institutions, non-governmental organisations, farmer groups and the private sector. It also promotes crop rotation of paddy with vegetables and pulses using organic fertilisers, along with allied activities such as dairy, vermi-composting and honeybee keeping.
