Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) runs the ITD Internship Program for students of institutes based in and around Mumbai, and eligible institutes can send their expression of interest through the official process. The program takes up to 15 interns and gives them a chance to work on real IT projects like Data Analytics, regulatory business processes and FinTech at SEBI.
Interns get a monthly stipend of ₹25,000 for 3 days a week attendance and ₹30,000 for 4 days a week, along with leaves, lunch and a completion certificate. The internship runs for a minimum of 1 year, so it fits into the academic calendar of MBA, MCA and engineering courses. Details of the current invitation are available on the official SEBI careers page, and the contact email for queries is itdinternship@sebi.gov.in.
SEBI ITD Internship Program - Introduction
SEBI's Information Technology Department (ITD) handles the IT systems that support the regulator's work on surveillance, supervision and market operations. Through this program, students from eligible institutes get hands-on training on live projects while the institutes partner with SEBI for the internship period.
Students joining the program work on different IT projects including Data Analytics (DA), regulatory business processes and reporting, and FinTech. These projects give interns a strong chance to apply their technical skills and understand how the Indian capital markets function. A basic understanding of financial markets is useful but not required.
Duration
The internship runs for a contiguous period of minimum 1 year. This can cover 2 semesters and 1 summer/winter internship, or 3 trimesters and 1 summer/winter internship.
Schedule
