Samagra Samajik Suraksha Vridhavastha Pension Yojana Details
This scheme is run by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Madhya Pradesh. It started back in 1981 and still continues as one of the main old age pension schemes of the state, listed on the portal as Social Security Old Age Pension Scheme. Destitute elderly persons of 60 years or above, including people living in old age homes, are covered under it.
Money is paid every month, not in one go. In January 2026 the state released around ₹327 crore in a single month for its social security pension schemes, covering more than 54 lakh pension holders across all districts. Payment goes only to the bank account linked with your Samagra ID, so keeping bank details and Aadhaar seeding correct matters a lot.

Apply Online for Old Age Pension
Online applying is the faster way and can be done from home or from any nearby common service centre. Keep your 9 digit Samagra ID and Aadhaar linked mobile number with you before starting, because OTP verification is part of the process.
STEP 1 - Open the state social security portal at socialsecurity.mp.gov.in and look for the services block on the homepage.
STEP 2 - Click on the online application link for pension schemes, then enter your district, local body and 9 digit Samagra member ID.
STEP 3 - Portal will pull your Samagra record and show the pension schemes you qualify for. Pick the old age pension scheme from that list.
STEP 4 - Fill in bank account number, IFSC code and mobile number carefully, then upload the required documents.
STEP 5 - Submit the form and note down the application number shown on screen. Use the track application status page later to see where your file has reached.
Offline Application Process
People who find the website hard can still apply on paper. Form is free at the local office and staff there help fill it.
STEP 1 - Collect the pension application form from your Gram Panchayat office, Nagar Palika or the nearest public service centre.
STEP 2 - Fill it fully and attach photocopies of the required documents along with photographs.
STEP 3 - Submit it to the officer in charge and take the acknowledgement receipt. Local staff check the papers and, if everything is correct, the sanction order is issued and pension starts from the next payment cycle.
Who Can Apply
Rules are simple and mostly depend on age, residence and having your name in the state family database. Check these points before applying.
- You should be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh with your name recorded on the Samagra portal.
- Age should be 60 years or above on the date of applying, and there is no upper age limit.
- You should be destitute, that is without a regular source of income or family support, or living in a government recognised old age home.
- You should not be getting pension under any other government pension scheme for the same purpose.
Documents Required
Keep clear photocopies ready, since incomplete papers are the most common reason files get held up at the local body level.
- Nine digit Samagra ID of the applicant, along with the family Samagra ID.
- Aadhaar card, which is also needed for e-KYC on the Samagra portal.
- Age proof such as Aadhaar, birth certificate, voter ID or a certificate issued by the competent officer.
- Destitute certificate issued by the local authority.
- Bank passbook copy showing account number and IFSC, and three passport size photographs.
e-KYC and Life Certificate Rules in 2026
Two things need attention this year. First, Aadhaar based e-KYC on the Samagra portal is required for all pension holders, and the department has asked local bodies to do physical verification of the remaining pension holders who have not completed it. Pension can stop if e-KYC stays pending, so get it done at a Samagra kiosk, CSC or through the local body.
Second, pension holders covered under NSAP schemes now have to get their Digital Life Certificate done through the mobile application route, as per the department order issued in April 2026. This saves a trip to the office for many elderly people since it can be done with a smartphone and Aadhaar based face verification.
Check Pension Status and Payment
After the pension starts, you can see every monthly credit yourself. Portal has a pension passbook page where entering the Samagra member ID shows the full payment history, month by month.
