Mukhyamantri Sports Development Scheme - Unemployed Young Professional Sportsperson was introduced by the Directorate of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of Tripura, to help the sporting youth of the state. It was made to create real work for experienced professional sportspersons by engaging them as Junior Coaches.
Selected individuals receive a fixed monthly remuneration of ₹20,000. The contractual engagement lasts for 12 months, though the authorities may extend or shorten this duration based on requirements.
In September 2024, the department issued modified guidelines for engagement of posts under this scheme. The original advertisement and application form from February 2024 are still available on the department website. Because fresh advertisements are published from time to time, candidates should check the Youth Affairs and Sports Department website and its notification page for the latest openings.

Eligibility
To be eligible for this scheme, applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Applicant should be a permanent resident of Tripura.
- Applicant should be a young, experienced professional sportsperson.
- Age should be between 18 and 40 years.
- SC/ST candidates get a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit.
- Applicant should have a 6-week sports coaching course certificate from NSNIS or a recognized institution, and participation in at least a State Level competition.
How to Apply (Offline)
The application process is fully offline. Applicants must submit the form by hand at the department office. Follow these steps:
STEP 1 - Download and print the official application form from the prescribed format.
STEP 2 - Fill in all required details accurately and paste a passport-sized photograph.
STEP 3 - Attach self-attested copies of all required documents.
STEP 4 - Submit the signed application form in person to the Director of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of Tripura, Shiksha Bhavan, 4th Floor, Office Lane, Agartala - 799 001.
STEP 5 - Collect an acknowledgement receipt from the office as proof of submission.
