To Assist the Farmers for Construction of Community Base Water Tank/Storage Structure for Efficient Use of Water Through Drip Irrigation is a state level scheme run by the Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Cooperation Department of Gujarat. Through this scheme, farmers get financial support to build water storage tanks, so they can water their crops well even when rainfall does not come on time and can use drip irrigation in a better way. The scheme is open for individual farmers as well as groups of two or more farmers.

Gujarat is often dependent on irregular rainfall, and water shortage can hit the harvest badly. By building a community based water tank or storage structure on the farm, a farmer can store water and use it through a micro irrigation system. This helps in expanding the irrigated area, cutting down water wastage, and raising the total agricultural output. The benefit under this scheme is available only once in a lifetime.

To Assist the Farmers for Construction of Community Base Water Tank/Storage Structure for Efficient Use of Water Through Drip Irrigation

This scheme provides cash help to farmers for building water tanks that feed into drip and micro irrigation systems. The main aim is to make sure that stored water is used well, so crops stay protected during dry periods and the farm keeps producing even when rain is not enough.

Farmers can apply either on their own or as part of a group. A group can have two or more farmers, and the tank is built on the land of one member. The application is done online through the official I-Khedut portal, and the department accepts it on a first-come, first-serve basis within the available target limits.

Eligibility

Farmers of Gujarat can apply for this help if they meet the conditions given below.

For Individual Farmers

A farmer must live in Gujarat and build the tank on their own farmland. The farmer has to adopt the Micro Irrigation System (MIS) for drip irrigation. For every 75 cubic meters of tank capacity, at least one hectare of land should be covered under this micro irrigation system.

For a Group of Farmers

A group must have two or more farmers from Gujarat. One farmer is chosen as the leader to handle the online application. The tank is built on the farm of one member. Every member has to use the Micro Irrigation System and maintain at least one hectare of land coverage per 75 cubic meters of tank capacity.
