This is a running scheme, so eligible exporters can apply through the official Coir Board online portal. The whole process works in two parts. First comes the exporter and RCMC registration, and second comes the Export Market Development Assistance (EMDA) application. Once the Coir Board approves an application, the exporter can claim reimbursement after returning from the exhibition or fair.

Financial support is given for participation in international exhibitions, trade fairs, and buyer-seller meets held in foreign countries. The scheme pays 100% of the space rent up to ₹1.00 lakh per exporter, whichever is lower between the limit and the actual rent paid. It also covers 100% of the economy class airfare up to ₹1.50 lakh for foreign travel and ₹1.00 lakh for travel within India, for one representative of the exporter. Freight charges are paid up to ₹25,000 in foreign countries and ₹20,000 in India per exporter.

Eligibility

Manufacturers, entrepreneurs, and exporters of coir and coir products can apply under this scheme. The eligibility rules are simple and clear for all applicants.

• The enterprise or exporter must be registered with the Coir Board to qualify for support.
• Financial support should not have been taken from any other source for the same purpose.
• The enterprise or exporter should not be charged, debarred, prosecuted, or blacklisted under the Foreign Trade Policy of India or by the Coir Board.

Example: If Ramesh Exports has already received partial funding from another government agency for a trade fair booth, Coir Board will deduct that amount from the eligible grant and pay only the remaining balance.

Application Process

The whole process runs online through the Coir Board portal. It has two main parts: exporter and RCMC registration, and Export Market Development Assistance (EMDA). Follow the steps below carefully.

STEP 1 - Go to the official Coir Board online portal and click on the "New Login Registration" link in the login section. Enter your name, PAN number, email, and mobile number as per the format shown on the screen.

STEP 2 - Note that the PAN number, email, and mobile number cannot be changed later in the application form. Select a secret question from the drop-down menu, type the answer, and choose your user name following the user name policy.

STEP 3 - Enter the security PIN shown on the screen and click the confirm button. Make sure the email and mobile number belong to you, because all future correspondence will come through email and SMS. You will receive your user name and password by email and SMS.

STEP 4 - Log in with the credentials received, change your password as per the password policy, and re-login with the new credentials. After login, expand the Registration menu, then the Exporter menu, and select the Registration link to submit your details.

STEP 5 - For RCMC registration, repeat the same steps by selecting the RCMC menu item and the Registration link. Submit the application, take a printout of both forms, and send them to the Coir Board office along with the required demand draft.

STEP 6 - For Export Market Development Assistance, complete the Part-A Beneficiary Registration to get your unique beneficiary registration number. Then expand the Export Market Development Assistance menu, fill the online application, and submit the form.

STEP 7 - After the event, if the application is approved by Coir Board, submit the claim details through the Submit Claim link under the EMDA menu. You can check the application status anytime by logging into your home page and selecting the Application Status link.
